It is built on Google’s global network and therefore uses functional and secure infrastructure that we already know and trust. This means that in the same way Google protects your information and privacy, your meetings will also be safeguarded. It gives you the peace of mind knowing that you can meet safely, with security and privacy issues taken care of.
Functionality
The platform is fast and allows you to set up a meeting and simply share it on the calendars of the participants. Meet is fully integrated with G-Suite which basically means you can add anyone and they can connect and join the online meeting through an email invite or calendar event.
This is extremely helpful for participants as they do not need a degree in IT or have to go through lots of red tape to join – ask me, I know how it feels to battle through red tape…
If you are like me and you like synchronisation, your Google calendar allows your meeting data such as date and time, agenda and other meeting details to be visible at the tap of a button.
Compatibility
Another great feature of the Meet app is cross-platform compatibility. It works with other platforms such as Skype for Business, Polycom and Pexip.
The platform also uses dial-in details and participants can use these details provided by G-Suite to join the meeting.
Of course, Google Hangouts Meet also has an app for iOS and Android which users can download if they need to join online meetings on the go.
Now is the Time
Google Hangouts Meet is a fantastic option right now, because of security issues putting another well-known video conferencing platform’s credibility and name in jeopardy.
