The latest update for iOS 13 was released yesterday with a few necessary changes.

iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max

Probably the most talked-about change coming with iOS 13.3.1 is the ability to switch off the U1 Ultra Wideband chip. There are international regulations that require the ability to switch off the chip entirely at specific locations. Switching off the chip will ensure no location tracking of any kind.

Read my article about the chip to understand what it does as well as the privacy implications have.

Closing

Even if you don’t have the latest Apple hardware, it’s always good to update to make sure you have the latest security features. Luckily, the latest iOS and iPadOS 13 releases have been stable, but it’s always good to wait a day or two to see if any problems pop up. If there are any problems with this release, I will post an update to let you know.
