Airpods Pro lite Rumour
We don’t know much at this stage. Reports of the production date moving deeper into the year surely makes it sound like there is something cooking, but it’s still early speculation.
It started with claims that Apple is interacting with Chinese and Taiwanese suppliers about new hardware. These reports were aimed at iPad, iMac and Apple Watch models but hinted at the AirPods also getting an upgrade. Whether it will still be called AirPods or be renamed to the AirPods Pro Lite is still a big mystery.
The AirPods Pro only released in October last year and is definitely not due for an upgrade. The AirPods (2nd-gen), on the other hand, has it’s anniversary in March this year. The AirPods could possibly receive an update and a name change, but again, just speculation.
Production Delay
The reported delay of the alleged AirPods Lite is caused because of the coronavirus outbreak. Factory closures or reduced number of staff reporting for work are hampering production in a large number of factories across China.
