CES 2020 had a lot of new releases and Sennheiser also jumped on the CES2020-release-wagon. The HD450BT was released to take on one of the leading noise cancellation headphones on the market today, the Sony WH-1000XM3.

Price

The biggest news around the release of the Sennheiser HD450BT over-ear headphones is the price. Compare Sennheiser’s $199 (R2,818.44*) headphones to the $349 (R4,942.89*) Sony WH-1000XM3’s and the choice is clear.

Prices exclude import and other taxes.

Features

Both headphones provide up to 30 hours of battery life, a dedicated voice assistant buttons as well as charging with USB-C.

Active noise cancellation is also featured by both headphones which means you will get crystal clear sound without annoying outside noise reaching your ears.

The easiest way to control settings these days is through an App. Luckily, both pairs have their own App where a wide range of settings can be tweaked. Sony has their Sony I Headphones Connect App and Sennheiser their Smart Control App.

Shipping

The HD450BT will start shipping in the middle of February.

Closing

Will the HD450BT’s sound quality measure up to the WH-1000XM3s? We will have to wait until it’s released and a comparison can be made.
